Shea Butter - Organic

Essential Depot sells only the finest quality Grade A* Organic African Unrefined Shea Butter (Karite Butter), with no additives. It has a shelf life of 18 months to 2 years.

Each GLC container of Shea Butter is produced by a local Women's Cooperative in Ghana. The women use hand-operated tools. Shea Nuts are collected after having fallen from the wild trees in the remote areas of Ghana and then processed (cleaned, husked, roasted, dried, cooked, boiled, separated, etc...).

The Shea Butter is unrefined with a thick and often nutty aroma.

If that aroma is not desired for your particular product, then purchase the R.E.D. Roasted Shea Butter which has only a slight aroma with no nutty or roasted odor.

NO:

• additives,
• bleaches,
• colorants,
• deodorizers,
• solvents,
• chemicals, or
• preservatives.

No alteration of the natural scent or appearance of the Shea Butter.

Mesh Filtration creates a smooth and silky butter. However, a small amount of impurities and sediment (which are bits of plant fiber and husk) may be present. Batches may vary in color. May contain white patches and darker streaks which are normal. Cosmetic and external/topical use only.

Essential Depot recommends against the purchase of Shea Butter that has been altered as this depletes the product of its beneficial healing and medicinal properties for which you purchased the Shea Butter. Bleaching, deodorizing, chemicals destroy the vitamins and minerals naturally present in Shea Butter.

If you order this meltable product between May 01 - October 31, please be aware that your product may experience changes in consistency or slight leakage. If this is a problem, please do not order between May 01 - October 31.

*The definition of Grade A varies widely in the industry. However, these are the consistent requirements for Grade A Shea Butter:

• raw
• unrefined
• extracted using pure water
• passed safety testing and inspections
• passed quality testing and inspections

Since our Shea Butter exceeds each of these requirements, our Shea Butter is properly graded as Grade A.
